Another Afternoon at the Fair

We just can't get enough of the carnivals around here. The Pima County Fair is happening now in Tucson, which is weird to me since the Franklin County Fair was always in August, but I guess with the Arizona heat and monsoon season and all, fairs in August in AZ wouldn't work. Anyhow, we went to the fair last Sunday with our friends.

Drew inside the helicopter. Danny's in there too, but you can't see him because we put them in the closed top helicopter instead of being smart enough to put them in the open airplane seats. Oh well.

And, of course, what carnival would be complete without the bumper cars?

Drew giggled the whole time and Daddy reported that he kept yelling "Go that way Daddy! Hit them!"

As if that wasn't enough then we discovered that they had mini bumper cars that the kids could drive by themselves. At first when we walked over there were no other kids in line, so we went to a different ride. But in the meantime, a group of kids lined up and went in before we could get back there with Drew. Eventually we timed it right so Drew could have his turn and have someone other than the wall to bump into.

I really should have taken video of Drew on the bumper cars by himself, but my camera battery was on its last life so I knew I'd be lucky just to get the pictures. Needless to say, it was the highlight of Drew's day.

Also fun from last weekend but without pictures is that we had our first Guitar Hero Rock Band night, with Steve & Bill on guitars, Kimmi on drums, and me singing (don't worry, my sister is in no danger of being replaced as the vocalist in our family). While Danny and Drew ran around and demolished Drew's room, we rocked out to Guitar Hero. Bill and Drew have played before but it's way more fun when there's a whole band.
